The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam's cameras were taken down for repair and restoration on May 25. The hope, according to the organization's Facebook page, was to remove the cameras safely prior to summer storms and rain.
"We discussed the option of removing the nonviable egg from the nest with MyFWC & U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, but it will remain in place per federal guidelines," the page reported. "We support their decision and appreciate all they do to help protect & preserve our Florida wildlife."
The cameras capture famous Fort Myers eagles, Harriet and M15, as well as new arrival, baby E9. The eaglet was born in December.
The Facebook and Twitter pages will continue to keep fans posted with any updates while the restorations are ongoing.
