We were able to catch up with Bo Turbeville, president of Accent Business Products, to chat about how the business came to be, what sets them apart from other office suppliers, and so much more!

What is Accent Business Products? How would you describe it to a friend?

We are an office equipment and business innovation company. We help other businesses improve their workflow processes while saving time and expenses.

When and why did you start the business?

Our father, Larry Turbeville started Accent Business Products in 1977. He recognized that there was a need in Southwest Florida for an office equipment company with a superior service department.

What’s something you wish people knew about your business?

I wish people knew that Accent Business Products is more than just an office equipment dealer. I want people to know that we are their partner in their company, as well. I believe that we can show our partners that we can save them money and make their workflow more secure and easier.

What is a common question you get? Your answer to it?

What makes Accent better than your competitors? There are a couple of good companies in Southwest Florida. At Accent we don’t want you as a customer, we want you as a partner. We want to work with you, not just for you. We know without a benefit of a doubt that we know our business so that we can help your business. Our morals and ethics set us apart from our competitors.

What is your most popular service?

Our multi-function office equipment is still the most popular. But our wide format copier/printer/scanner is becoming a large part of our business. Another popular service is our HIPAA-compliant services and software.

What is your personal favorite aspect of the group and your mission?

My favorite aspect of the business is the way it changes quickly. Our mission is to help your business succeed while helping you find better workflow processes.

Are you involved with or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations, or causes?

Accent helps many local nonprofits and community organizations. We have always believed that we should support the community that has allowed us to stay in business for 41 years.

We support Hope Healthcare Service (Hope Hospice), Lehigh Community Services, Alvin Dubin Alzheimer, SalusCare, Rotary, and many other great community organizations.

Why did you choose to be in Fort Myers?

In 1977 Southwest Florida was an ideal place to start our company. It was one of the last places in Florida near the beach that had the most growth potential. We have enjoyed watching this area grow and are especially proud to have helped our business better grow with it.

Are you a member of the chamber or any other networking organizations?

We are a member of most of the local chambers, as well as Rotary. Some of these great chambers have been influential in the growth of Southwest Florida.

Do you have any upcoming events, specials, or new products/services that people should know about?

With COVID hitting our community we do not have any events scheduled right now. We do have some new products that have come out to help businesses with people working from home. We have software that helps to communicate with their office and help streamline their business processes, as well as helping them to print good quality documents like they were able to do at their office.
