Shell Point Retirement Community has officially completed the Larsen Health Center, a $78 million project that brings together all health care services offered at Shell Point.

The 200,000-square-foot facility includes services such as “a comprehensive medical center, behavioral health suite, rehabilitation center, dental offices, pharmacy and a 180-bed skilled nursing facility with private rooms,” according to Florida Weekly.

Shell Point President and CEO Martin Schappell states, “Locating all medical services within one facility accelerates access to care, enhances collaboration in treatment, and hastens the healing and restorative process,” reports Florida Weekly.

The Larsen Health Center not only offers rooms for exams, procedures, and specialty physicians, but includes a therapy center for both in-and-outpatient services, a therapy pool, a chapel, a cafe, dining rooms, sunrooms, and 162 private and 9 companion nursing rooms. The companion spaces offer a nurturing environment, while still providing access to the medical care needed.

The Larsen Health Center was started in September 2019 and included several project teams, such as RDG Planning & Design, The Weitz Company, Johnson Engineering, Stantec Consulting Services, and Fiber Solutions.
