The Alzada Company - A Boutique-Style Real Estate Development Company in Southwest Florida

Mar 30, 2022 11:34AM ● By Jessica Wagner
The Alzada Company, founded by Rebekah Barney, is a real estate development company that specializes in boutique, residential communities in Southwest Florida.

We were able to catch up with Rebekah to discuss all things Alzada, how the company came to be, and what's happening now.

"The company is named after my grandmother, Alzada Cross, and our debut development – The Irving Downtown in the Fort Myers River District – is named after my grandfather, Irving Cross," explains Rebekah. "I officially launched The Alzada Company in 2021, but my career in real estate development has evolved over the past two decades, and founding my own development company was the next natural step. It’s exciting to be one of the few woman-owned real estate developers in the area."

The Alzada Company is dedicated and passionate about real estate. Its core mission "is to blaze a trail into the future of residential development, bringing together innovative eco-friendly green building standards and exquisitely detailed design with the comfort and luxury of superb amenities."

It's no surprise when you look at The Irving and see exactly that. The Irving community is very modern, yet reflects the historic details of downtown Fort Myers.

One of Rebekah's most rewarding aspects of her job is being able to see an underutilized building be transformed into a place of work or cozy homes for the people of Southwest Florida. The Irving especially has been a memorable moment for her. "Developing a community like The Irving Downtown has been a dream of mine for a very long time, and as I work and watch it come together day by day, meeting by meeting, moment by moment, it’s an indescribable feeling, because it can be challenging and difficult, but it’s also deeply fulfilling – and fun – and I think the best is still yet to come."

Not only does Rebekah love to work with her colleagues and create lasting relationships with other professionals, but she is also extremely dedicated to giving back to the community. "Locally, I’m a part of the Hope Hospice Shine Committee, I serve as secretary on the Lee County Pace Center for Girls Board of Directors, and I’m an avid supporter and volunteer fundraiser for the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and the American Heart Association (for which I will be chairing the 2023 Southwest Florida Go Red for Women event)."
