Music Walk Celebrates The Sound of Southwest Florida

Apr 04, 2025 08:00AM ● By Ann Marie O’Phelan

Now in its 14th year, the Fort Myers Music Walk, the ever-popular thing to do on the third Friday of every month will take place in April on April 18, 2025, from 6 pm to 10 pm. This lively, popular, and free event is held rain or shine.

The event showcases various talent levels and musical varieties—local and regional—and is fun for all ages. And there’s always something new!  “We change musicians from month to month but stick with the formula that was created many years ago: Nine to 11 bands, soloists, and DJs perform on the closed streets of historic Downtown Fort Myers,” says President & CEO of River District Alliance, Lisa Sbuttoni.

Attendees can enjoy watching people—young to old— listen to the music and partake in ‘dancing in the streets’ and singing along with some favorite songs. “You never know who will be performing until one week before the event, and all genres are represented, such as blues, folk, piano, reggae, techno, and rock.

Plus, it’s a great way to discover local talent!” adds Sbuttoni.

Restaurants, nightclubs, art galleries, boutiques, and shops will keep their doors open, so there’s plenty to do and enjoy during the evening. Delicious food, lively music, and excitement from street corner to street corner will take place in the revitalized downtown area with cobblestone streets and historic buildings. And there’s plenty of parking. Find out more at myriverdistrict.com
