Proton Therapy for Cancer Treatment
Engage Estero's May Community & Membership Meeting will share how proton therapy facility will provide less invasive and more precise treatment for cancer in Lee County.
An innovative and less damaging form of cancer treatment is making its way to Lee County! Engage Estero's May Community & Membership Meeting will feature representatives from Lee Health and Advocate Radiation Oncology to share how this new proton therapy facility will provide an advanced form of radiation therapy that is more precise and has fewer side effects than traditional surgery or chemotherapy. In addition to this presentation, Allan Bowditch will present the results of the "Sense of Place" survey conducted earlier this year. Details of the survey results and the winners of the Sense of Place competition will be announced, along with a statement describing Estero’s Sense of Place and other findings relating to the priorities residents would like to see addressed by the Village. The meeting will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 10:00-11:30 am at Estero Park & Recreation Center at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited so we highly recommend reserving your spot at https://esterotoday.com/may2024/ #LeeHealth #AdvocateRadiation #ProtonTherapy
